National Service Scheme (NSS)
As part of the B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture curriculum, National Service Scheme (NSS 101) is offered as a full- fledged course for 1st and 2nd year students. NSS is a non- graded course and however students need to secure a pass. NSS has scheduled and non-scheduled activities. The scheduled activities are carried out as per the directions of the NSS Programme Co-ordinator, TNAU and the non-scheduled activities are decided by KIA from time to time based on localized needs. The NSS programmes carried out for the past five years is as follows:

NSS Annual Special Camp 2023 |
Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture, Nachimuthupuram, Sakthinagar, erode organized seven days NSS Special at Oricheri village near Bhavani from Jan. 4 – 10, 2023. All the 120 II B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri. Students actively involved in the camp. Major focus was given on Environment cleanliness, Tree planting, Soil sampling, Organic farming principles. Besides hands on training was given on Mushroom cultivation, Bee keeping and Kitchen garden. School children’s were involved in cleaning and wall painting. Health campaign and Eye camp were organized as a part of the programme. Veterinary Camps, Rally on drug abuse, eradication of polythene were also conducted. All the Scientists of KIA, Government Department Officials, Panchayat members, local Police personnel, Sakthi Sugars Ltd Staff, and School Teachers are involved in seven days NSS Special Camp. |

On January 25, 2023, at 11:30 AM, Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA), Nachimuthupuram, Erode, observed “National Voters Day 2023” to inspire young people to get involved in politics. |

Awareness on COVID-19
As per the orders of Government of Tamil Nadu, KIA is taking all efforts to bring an awareness about COVID-19 virus among the students and general public, the institution has made elaborate arrangements to display the flex boards as how to tackle the menace of this virus. The flex boards are displayed in main entrance of the institution, administrative block and hostel.
