Entrepreneurship Awareness Session Held at KIA
The Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA) hosted an Awareness Session on Entrepreneurship on April 8, 2025, exclusively for the first-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students. The event also marked the official launch of the Dairy Entrepreneur Internship Program at KIA.
The session began with a warm welcome by Thiru C.V. Amarendran, Project Coordinator at KIA. Dr. Ravi Kumar Theodore, Principal of KIA, elaborated on the institute’s initiatives to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and promote practical, innovation-driven learning.
Thiru A. Balasubramanian, Executive Officer of KIA, and Thiru C. Saravanan, Assistant Vice-President of Kumaraguru Institutions, shared insights on how such programs can open doors to exciting entrepreneurial opportunities in the agriculture sector.
The highlight of the event was a special lecture by Thiru Krishna Varadharajan, Chairman of Idea Plus: Business Solutions, Chennai. He captivated the audience with key drivers of entrepreneurship and interactive simulations that made business concepts engaging and accessible. He showcased inspiring case studies of agricultural and dairy entrepreneurs from India who turned everyday challenges into innovative business solutions.
Thiru Krishna also encouraged students to discover and leverage their individual strengths, and to aim for meaningful success that contributes to society.
Concluding the session, Dr. Gopi Hariharan, Project Head at KIA, presented the structure and benefits of the newly launched Dairy Entrepreneur Internship Program, and welcomed students to actively participate. The session ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. P.G. Dhamotharan, Associate Professor & Head (DSS) at KIA.
